Shipping, Returns, & Refunds

Our Commitment to Quality and Transparency

All purchases of wine, merchandise, or services—whether placed through our website, by phone, or in person—are governed by this Shipping & Returns Policy and our Terms and Conditions of Sale. By completing a transaction with Mitchell Katz Winery, you agree to these terms.

Additional conditions may apply to specific products, services, or promotional offerings.

We cannot guarantee delivery by a specific date once your order has shipped.

Canceling an Order

If your order has not yet shipped or been packed, we’re happy to help cancel and refund it. 

Please contact us as soon as possible.

Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable once an order has been processed or shipped.

Damaged or Flawed Wines

Your satisfaction is important to us. If your wine arrives damaged or you believe a bottle is flawed:

  • Save the bottle and contents
  • Contact us within 7 days of delivery
  • Provide photos and details if possible

We will evaluate the issue and offer a replacement or credit at our discretion.

Please note: We cannot accept returns or issue refunds for damage caused by extreme weather conditions during transit, such as heat damage, freezing, or cork displacement. We encourage customers to consider shipping conditions before placing an order.

Wines purchased through third-party retailers must be addressed directly with that vendor.

Shipping & Delivery Requirements

Federal law requires an adult (21+) signature upon delivery of any wine shipment.

  • Carriers cannot accept signed notes in place of an in-person signature
  • ID may be required upon delivery
  • By placing an order, you confirm you and the recipient are over 21 years of age

If a delivery attempt fails multiple times, the order may be returned to our warehouse. Re-delivery will incur additional shipping charges. Wine not claimed from UPS within 5 business days may be returned to us.

Federal law prohibits changing the delivery address after shipment. If a change is needed, the order must be returned to us and re-shipped.

Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are calculated based on your order size, weight, and destination. Rates are shown at checkout.

Pickup at the Winery

Orders placed online or by phone may be picked up at our Livermore Valley tasting room during business hours.

Please wait for a confirmation email before arriving. We recommend allowing 24 hours for processing.

State Shipping Restrictions

Due to compliance regulations, we are unable to ship wine to certain states. At this time, we do not ship to:

AL, AR, DE, IN, MS, NE, NJ, RI, UT

Some states may require additional information such as birthdates for both purchaser and recipient. You’ll be prompted for this info at checkout or contacted after placing your order.

We do not ship to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

We ship Monday through Friday

We may hold orders during extreme temperatures to protect wine quality

During summer months, ground shipping outside of California may be suspended

Overnight and air shipping options are available at checkout

Return Policy

We do not accept returns of wine for taste preference. If a bottle appears flawed or compromised, please save the product and contact our team.

All returns are subject to review. Refunds or credits are not guaranteed.
